A great Yaga listing has clear photos and a complete description — both work together to attract Buyers and reduce returns.
In this article:
- Photo basics — lighting, background, full-size shot
- Wearing the item
- Writing a strong description
- Choosing the right category and brand
Photo basics
Six photos are allowed per listing — use them.
- Lighting — take photos in natural daylight. Avoid flash and direct sunlight, both can distort the colour of the item.
- Background — use a clean, plain background. Avoid colourful sheets, or other items in the frame so your item stands out.
- Full-size shot — at least one photo must show the whole item. Detail shots are great in addition, but a full-size shot is needed so Buyers see what they're getting.
- Imperfections — show any flaws (e.g. pilling, stains, scuff marks). It builds trust and prevents returns.
Wearing the item
Photos of the item being worn help Buyers see how it fits, hangs, and moves. If you don't want to show your face, that's fine — a mirror photo or a cropped shot works just as well.
Writing a strong description
Each listing should include:
- Item name — e.g. "midi skirt", "ankle boots", "raincoat"
- Brand — even if you can't tag it
- Size — match the size on the label (factory size)
- Colour
- Condition — New, like new, good, fair
- Any flaws or quirks — small stains, runs true to size or not, oversized cut, etc.
Example: "Yellow ZARA midi skirt, size M. Worn once, like new. True to size."
Choosing the right category and brand
Yaga search results respect the category and brand tag, not just the description. Choose the category that fits best — if you list a kids' jacket under "Women", a parent searching the "Kids" category won't find it.
PS! Don't spam keywords
Adding unrelated brand names or hashtags ("#Gucci #Zara") to make your item appear in more searches is not allowed. Keep it truthful.
